I have this weird obsession (some might consider me OCD) to keep traditions. I try really hard to do the same things each year for Holidays. For instance, seeing the same Santa Claus each year. Ever since they changed the Santa at Quail Springs Mall (I really like him), we have taken the kids to North Pole City. I LOVE that place! This year, I was so busy with everything going on (mainly Girl Scout stuff)...I decided to take Rielyn out of school in order to avoid the 2-3 hour wait. It was the best decision ever!
The train ride is a must. Unfortunately, Rielyn is growing up and this may have been her last year to ride the train. :( Kellan especially loved it!AND...the REAL Santa!! I love this guy! He took the time to ask each of the kids their names, how old they were and what each of them wanted for Christmas! Rielyn said she wanted an alarm clock. He said "why? are you late for a lot of appointments?". Then she said "no, just school". Oops! Busted! Then Ashlyn said she wanted a doll that looked like her and talked like her....Santa gave me a look like "good luck with that!" Kellan said he wanted a car. Santa asked what color...he said "a green car".
I also have this tradition of wanting to take the family to see the Christmas lights in Chickasha. I think I've missed a year or two on this one just because it's an hour away, but I try REALLY hard to find time to go!
My Aunt from California came out for my little sisters college graduation and she came to see the lights with us. She was really impressed and I'm glad we got to share the experience with her! :)
This picture cracks me up!
The funny thing about the above picture is the little girl on the left. She was playing right next to the sign that said "Danger-High Voltage"! The lights inside the fence were dancing to different songs...she was dancing right along with them...at one point almost right into the fence!
And Ashlyn's school Christmas program. They sang a cute Santa song to the tune of BINGO. She still sings it almost daily! :)

I'm the same way about traditions!! I'm glad you're catching up. I've missed reading your blog. I've done my first blog book at Blurb but haven't ordered it yet. I'll let you know how it turns out.
