Since Ashlyn started crawling and pulling up on stuff...we've had the hardest time getting her to go to sleep on her own. She is just is so excited about her new feats that she will just play in her crib forever. So, before I would just feel guilty about leaving her in there for an hour or longer and end up getting her out and nursing her to sleep. Bad, I know! I told the Dr. about her situation and he said that I just need to leave her in there for as long as it takes and go in (if she cries) every ten minutes to assure her I'm still there. Well, this is the third night...the first was Terrible (with a capital T and over an hour) and tonight it only took 15 minutes. The only thing is...she keeps falling asleep sitting up, and then plopping over. Which if you can tell in the picture, does not look very comfortable. But, I do go in and lay her down so she's not in that position all night. So, this is a new experience for us! Now all we have to do in order to get her sleeping through the night again (it's been since she was 4 months old) that the Dr. recommends is move her crib out of our room. :( That'll be the hardest part since Rielyn slept in bed with us for 13 months and Ashlyn's been in our room since she was born!

Chrissey,
My dr. also suggested to let him Cry it out. I couldn't do it. You need to read the book called The Baby Whisperer solves all of your problems by Tracy Hogg. Or go to her website. She shows step by step how to get Ashlyn to sleep on her own and if she wakes up in the night to fall back asleep on her own. YEAH! It has done wonders for Carson and me. I also ordered the book No Cry Sleep solution. I haven't read it yet but I am interested in what it has to say. The reviews on the web were raving. Hope this helps!
