It's my party...

Kellan barely made it through his own birthday party today. Poor thing, he didn't get a very good morning nap so he was really tired at 3 when we did the party. He did pretty well though. I made two cakes, one for him (chocolate) and one for everyone else. He loved the cake...at least tearing it apart. He didn't eat too much of it, but he liked the little bit he did eat. We threw him into the tub afterwards...there was no other option! He got some great presents too...he actually liked his cards as much as some of his gifts. His aunt Katie and grandmama got him cards that sing and he loved those...he just sat there and opened and closed them to hear the songs! He also got some loud obnoxious toys thanks to...oh wait, me! Great...I guess I'll only be able to blame myself...maybe I won't feel so guilty in a couple weeks when I throw it out then! And since this is practically my baby book for Kellan, here is some fun facts about Kellan at one year old...

Weight: ~22lbs (my scale at home...it's pretty accurate) I couldn't get him in for his 1 year well child appt. until June.

Favorite toy: Oven mitts (no really...he loves getting them out of the drawer and carrying them around the house!) oh, and his and his paci!

Favortie food: oh that's right, he's still not eating food or drinking ANYTHING out of a cup or bottle...STILL BREASTFEEDING! Dr. says he probably won't go to Kindergarten breastfeeding, so don't worry?! What?! (But, he will eat mashed potatoes...is it wrong to wean him to just mashed potatoes??)

Words he says: mama, woof, and some other mumbled words to which I don't understand

Number of teeth: 4 on the bottom, 2 big ones on top and 2 more coming in on top

Walking: yes, very well now

Sleeping: no...not very well now (half the time in his crib and half the time in our bed). He naps usually around 11 for about an hour to an hour and a half and again around 3 for an hour to an hour and a half.

He's one of the happiest baby's I've ever seen (not just saying that because he's ours either). He barely cries, only when he's super tired and can't go to sleep. He is constantly moving...even when he sleeps (hence the not sleeping very well comment) and is not content just sitting and playing with toys. He LOVES water and taking baths, which is great since both girls just recently got over their fears of water. He's got the biggest set of blue eyes with the longest eyelashes...when he looks sad it just melts your heart and you can't help but give him whatever he wants. Happy Birthday baby Kellan...we love you and can't believe how fast our baby boy is growing up!
