The Olympics

Yesterday was the M&M Olympics or the "finale" of the gymnastics year for the girls. They have the parents come into the gym and they have them march in with their classes, then they go through each of the different areas and show you what all they've learned. Then it ends with a trophy presentation and 3 bags of M&M's! I am so proud of both girls for how much they've learned this year. Rielyn did an excellent balance beam routine with little reminders from the coach, and a great floor and trampoline routine. Ashlyn's class is pretty much just fun, they take them all over all kinds of obstacle courses and it gets them introduced to the techniques they will use when they go to the big gym. But Ashlyn can do a pretty mean somersault and can stand on her head for a good amount of time! I think gymnastics is one of the best things to have them in...they both love it and it gives them good skills to build upon. While it has been convenient to have their classes at the same time the whole year, it makes for a rather difficult end of year finale to watch. They have it at the same time as their class would normally be so I had to run back and forth across the gym to try and watch both and take pictures and video! Luckily, Katie and her boyfriend were there to help because I couldn't have done anything if they didn't watch Kellan for me!

Here is Rielyn with her awesome coach, Kayla. She has been so great with her class and Rielyn just loved her!

Here is Ashlyn with her coach, Katie. She was an excellent coach too...a very patient, excellent coach for the 3 year olds!
