Thursday all 5 of us flew to Colorado for Nathan's uncles wedding. Nathan HATES to fly and he almost didn't fly w/us (LONG STORY). Anyways...he did and I'm glad because I was not looking forward to a 12 hr. drive for just a 3 day trip!
This was Rielyn's 2nd time to fly (1st that she'll remember though). She loved it! This was Ashlyn and Kellan's first. Ashlyn loved it up until the plane started to shake and drop on occasion on the descent. She then was petrified. She clinched on to me and was screaming bloody murder(not kidding about the screaming part) until we landed. I had to cover her mouth so it didn't damage anyone elses hearing! I tried to talk to her and distract her but she just shouted "MOMMY...STOP TALKING!" When we got off the plane she said she didn't want to fly anymore and wanted to drive home.
Nathan was very helpful on the way out there. He sat in the row in front of us and so when Kellan got restless and tired he held him and he instantly went to sleep. He wouldn't go to sleep for me and since he couldn't see me, he didn't fight it!
We convinced Ashlyn to fly back, actually Rielyn was the helpful one with that. She told Ashlyn to pretend she was flying the plane and somehow that helped her...plus it actually was a lot smoother of a flight. Ashlyn was a lot more attentive when they went over the safety precautions this time though!! Kellan started off great, he was waving at everyone getting on the plane and smiling and everyone thought he was adorable! Then halfway through he started arching his back and yelling. The flight was at 9 p.m and he was just too tired. Nathan couldn't hold him becuase his seat was across from us and when he tried to hold him, he fought even harder. And besides that, Nathan experienced somewhat of a "medical emergency" (not really) on the plane. He was nervously scratching his neck/back of his head and picked a skin tag or something and it was bleeding worse than a bloody nose! He got blood everywhere! All the flight attendants were attending to him and causing a big scene...not that Kellan's little act wasn't enough to get everyone's attention. BUT anyways, Nathan's fine...a little pressure and it stopped 15 minutes later. Kellan fell asleep 5 minutes before we landed and we got home at 12:15 a.m.
One good thing about the flight was the sunset, it was beautiful leaving Denver!
