On one of the early spring break days that were nice (80+ degrees) we thought we would try the zoo. Well, apparently EVERYONE in OKC and any tourists in town decided they would go too. I have never been to the zoo when the parking lots (both the zoo and the omniplex lots) were full and they were sending overflow to Remington parks lots. People were literally flocking into the zoo, it was the craziest thing I've seen in a while! I'm not a huge fan of crowds so we (Laura W and her kids were w/us)decided to go to Hafer park instead and have a picnic. There were a lot of people there too, but it wasn't near as bad!Rielyn is SO helpful at parks with Kellan! He tries to do all the big kids stuff and she walks right along side of him (most the time) and helps him. He won't go down the slide without her!
Good thing she was with him on this one! He twisted around on the way down and would've landed on his head!
While we were there, a rep for the OKC Thunder (NBA basketball team) came and passed out free game tickets and hats to a lot of kids. We were going to be out of town for the game, but we did get a cool Thunder cap! Kellan thought it was for him! ;)
He's just hammin it up!
Also, while we were there, a very smart ice cream druck driver decided to drive through! I said no originally because when one gets it, everyone wants it too and there were 5 in our group that would be wanting it if she got it. So, Rielyn had some money saved up from her bday and said she wanted to buy herself AND the rest of our group some! She is so giving sometimes, I wonder if she really is my kid?? JK! :)
