Okay...So, I haven't written in a while, I know. So, here is a not so brief recap of the last couple weeks. We did finally get to have Rieyln's 3rd Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and she loved every second of it. The whole week between her actual birthday and celebrating it, she sang "Happy Birthday to Riwynn" several times a day. She loved the pizza and hardly ate any of the beautiful cake I made. She won lots of tickets , well with the help of her dad and uncles! My mom, dad and sister Katie also got to make it down for her party and stayed for a whole week. It was a nice break for me to have Katie here to help me with the kids. It's convinced me that I need a nanny! Oh, but wait...Katie will be moving down here in August to come to OC!! If only I could convince her to drop out of school to be my live-in nanny! But, some people say she needs to stay focused at college and not sacrifice her social life by spending all her time at my house watching my kids. Which, I guess I agree, but hopefully she'll be able to help a little! Anyways...while they were here, we took the kids to see the Easter Bunny which both of my kids loved. On Saturday, we all dyed easter eggs and decorated sugar cookies. Click here for the finished product. On Easter morning, it was a little chilly here, so we did a little Easter egg hunt inside for Rielyn. By that, I mean I hid the eggs and then she lost interest in looking for them after she saw her easter basket. They both loved their baskets, especially Ashlyn. She even tried to eat the grass! My family left Sunday morning after church and then we went to my sister-in-laws (Lindsey's) parents house to have some delicious brisket and do an easter egg hunt with all the kids. Here's a cute pic of Madison, Cooper (my neice and nephew) and my two kids after the fun. On a little side note, Ashlyn finally cut her first tooth, actually her first two bottom teeth at once. It seems like she was teething for 3 months! Oh, and Rielyn took a little tumble down the stairs last week too. It was a matter of time before it happened, but I'm not glad that it did. She was 5 feet in front of me upstairs and playing on the railing. I told her to get down before she fell, and sure enough as she stepped down, her foot slipped and she fell all the way down, it was a sideways roll though, not a head first roll. She almost caught herself a couple times, but didn't and landed flat on the tile. Unbelievably, she didn't get hurt at all (after a couple minutes of crying from the shock and overwhelming attention she was getting from us). She told everyone she came in contact with for the next couple days that she rolled down the stairs and landed in the ants (we've had a small ant problem at our front landing). So, all in all, we've had a very eventful last couple weeks and now I'm back to my somewhat normal life!
