Earlier this summer when my parents were in town, Rielyn and my dad planted some carrots and some pumpkin seeds. We really couldn't find a good spot for the carrots so they didn't really grow very big, but we did get a couple baby carrots out of the deal. They picked them yesterday and I washed and peeled them for them to eat! Rielyn is so proud...even if they are little bity things!
The pumpkins however are loving the spot where we put them! They planted only 10 seeds and every seed produced a vine, which in turn produced a couple other vines. We've had to prune them a couple times, but the way it looks right now, we may end up with close to 20 pumpkins! Rielyn is loving watching the pumpkins grow and she can't wait for them to be done! The timing should work out perfectly and we should have a nice pumpkin patch by October!
I am so proud of Rielyn...just a couple months ago she was still in the phase of not wanting to put her face in the water. Now, she's jumping in off the ladders and sides of pools and even letting her dad throw her in the water!
