Rielyn went to the Edmond North High School cheer/pom clinic this morning! She has been taking a cheer/tumble class at Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics so she was really excited to do this again. I messed her up however and now she says she doesn't want to go next year. I feel absolutely terrible about it. What happened was I guess they had a partner they were suppose to stand by and her partner took off to the furthest side of the gym where I couldn't see her. So, not knowing that she was suppose to be with a partner I got Rielyn's attention and told her to move more towards the middle so I could see her. Well, that messed her up and she spent the whole cheer and half the dance wandering around looking for another partner. She finally walked up to one of the cheerleaders and I could see she was about to break down crying. They helped her get back into it and she finished off just fine. But afterwards, she teared up and said her friend from school whom she wanted to partner with was with someone else and she was left out. It's so hard now that she is growing up and starting to face the issues of "fitting in" and being around kids who do and say things differently than her. I wish I knew how to direct her in the right way without her feelings ever getting hurt, but I guess that's just part of growing up! Here's to parenting and hoping that you do something right along the way!

That's so hard! But she looks so cute in the pics. Surely she'll be over it by next year. I'm w/ you on the parenting thing...so tough!
Ugh. It's so much harder with girls!
