I took the kids to North Pole City today because I heard there was a better Santa there than at the mall. I'm really disappointed that the Quail Springs Mall Santa changed this year! Normally I probably wouldn't have driven all the way down there, but we had to pick up Nathan's mom and grandparents at the airport today. So we just went early and stopped by. First of all, I've never been to North Pole City...it is GORGEOUS inside! Every inch is decorated with trees, ornaments, candles, wreaths etc. And not like Hobby Lobby with aisles and stuff. It really looked like it could be the North Pole! They had a little choo-choo train for the kids to ride and of course Santa was there too. The atmosphere was perfect. It was just hard trying to keep the kids from touching everything (i.e.-touching and breaking). The wait for Santa wasn't long at all, like less than 10 minutes, but the whole process of getting the pictures seemes like it took forever (45 minutes). We saw a lot of newborn babies there getting pics done w/Santa. I guess it would be the best place to have it done...not as many kids/germs and/or crazy waiting. Ashlyn didn't like Santa, which is strange because she loves dads, grandpas, uncles (well men in general) right now. Rielyn was fascinated with Santa, she's really into the whole Santa/Christmas thing this year. She looked all around Santa and said "where's your reindeer?" She told Santa she wanted a Cinderalla barbie, a horsie that goes with it, new sunglass because her's broke and "my mommy needs a new camera." I guess she forgot that I just got a new one-oh well, at least she's looking out for me! Here's some pics of the kids on the train.
Again...great atmosphere, we all loved it! If you want to make the drive I think it's worth it. I will definently go again next year, now that I know what it looks like!
