Gingerbread houses

While everyone else is out doing last minute Christmas shopping in the freezing, windy, snowy weather, we thought we'd stay at home next to the warm fire and do gingerbread houses! The girls each did their own houses this yearand I just watched and assisted as needed. It was hard for me not to jump in and decorate how I thought it should look, but it was kind-of fun to see each of their diffferent styles. Ashlyn actually created more patterns than Rielyn did, which suprised me! I guess Rielyns artistic side came out and was going for a more colorful approach!

The weather was so nice this week (in the upper 60's) that the girls were able to play outside a lot. They are such outdoorsy (is that a word?) and imaginative girls...they would stay out there all day if they could! I wish I would've had this picture before I sent out my Christmas cards though, I think it's a cute picture and it would've gone great w/Kellans picture!

Instead though, we put the bottom two pics on our Christmas card this year! Tomorrow we are off to Blanchard to celebrate Christmas with Nathans' brothers and their families and then we're back home where we will spend Christmas with just our little family of 5!
