The farm-quick trip

Right after school got out, my parents came down for the weekend and took the girls back to the farm in Missouri with them for a week. It was pretty quiet around here...you kind of get used to all the noise and mess! I felt a little lonely most of the week....but I did get a lot done! :) So, at the end of the week, Nathan and I and Kellan drove up there to pick them up. We left Saturday night and came back Sunday night! Told you...a quick trip!! But, don't be fooled...we packed all the stuff we would normally do outside on the farm into one day! The pictures are deceiving...we did it all on Saturday...I know, I'm a little obsessive with my camera! :)
Rielyn caught a turtle while she was there and named him "Mikey". My dad wrote the girls initials and date on the turtles shell and let it go while we were there. Who knows...we may find it someday down the road...hopefully not ON the road smashed.

We walked down the hill to the glaze and I made Nathan and the kids stop to pose for a picture! It's cute though, right?!
I love pictures like this one below...Kellan walking in between papa and his daddy! So sweet!
Ashlyn got tired walking down there...it was about a 1/2 mile walk, so I carried her for the rest of the way on my shoulders. She got a kick out of that!
Posted by PicasaWhen we got to Deans creek, Kellan tried walking in it and immediately fell down! He obviously didn't mind! I knew he was bound to get wet!
Another cute picture...the kids are trying to catch minnows!
Papa emptying out Kellans boots that were full of water and not allowing him to walk!
Kellan testing out the "deep end"! It actually get's pretty deep in some parts, that would completely cover Kellan up!

Nathan trying to show me where to aim...like he knew, he kept missing too! :)
So...he tried a more traditional way of catching fish! He tried to catch it with his bare hands! That didn't work either...he discovered in the process that the water was a lot deeper than it looked!
After the fishing, my dad and Nathan spent a good 30 mintues trying to catch craw-dads. He finally caught one and I dared him to eat it...afterall, it is just a miniature crab right?! :)
He didn't eat it though.

Letting it go! No wonder they are so hard to catch, they match the rock bed perfectly!
Family picture by the creek time!
And this is the George family farm! Built in the early 1900's where my grandma grew up during the depression! Amazing! My family has remodeled it some and it has become a great middle ground for all the Bunger family to come hang out!

I see a lot of great scrapbooking pictures on here!! BTW, that old barn would be a great background for a photo session. You'll have to do that the next time you're there! What a great place for your kids to have to visit. So many memories will be made there!
