Well...I went to the chiropractor yesterday to find out why my back has been hurting. I fell down (rather slipped down and hit my tailbone) on our stairs while holding Ashlyn 2 weeks ago and it's been hurting pretty bad since then. Luckily, my step-mother-in-law (Nathan's dad's wife), Kay works at a chiropractic office and since I'm family I get everything VIP and FREE!! Yippee! So, I got the full exam yesterday, xrays (the xray picture is not me...my upper spine is a little crooked right now) and tests and such and an adjustment and muscle stimulation. Come to find out, it's nothing serious...it actually sounds like it's more from my posture. Which may sound bad coming from a Pilates teacher! But, my problem is not when I do Pilates...my back actually feels better when I do Pilates...it's when I'm sitting or standing that it hurts. I guess I over correct my posture when sitting or standing. So they said just to let my spine take it's natural position when sitting or standing...but still not to slump. So, the adjustments are nice and painful at the same time. I feel better afterwards though. He said it will probably take 6-8 visits to get 80% better. Yesterday though, my back hurt worse than ever after everything they did to me. But, it did feel a lot better this morning. The muscle stimulation part is AWESOME! It's electrode things all over your back that are warm and tingle. It supposedly loosens up your muscles and in turn releases your bodys natural pain killers to numb the pain. So, that part I look forward to for the next couple weeks! And thanks to Kay...it's all free! She's awesome for hooking me up with this!! Tonight is the Sonshine school program and I can't wait until it's over...we've been working hard to get everything ready for tonight. Being a teacher this year, I've been so busy thinking about my class that I forgot that I have 2 of my own children that will be in the program that I need to watch! Nathan isn't going to be able to come because of work and so I am somehow going to have to figure out how to accomplish everything by myself! Wish me luck and hopefully I will get to watch and post some pictures later!
