Well, we had a very fun 4th of July...rather a fun 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July! On Sunday night we went to Quail Springs Freedom and Faith Festival and watched their fireworks. Ashlyn was scared to death once they started going off, but about half way through she calmed down enough to let me cover her ears and watch them on my lap. On Monday, me and my sister-in-law took the kids to the Chuck E Cheeses down on 240, which is a lot cleaner and less crowded than the one on NW Expressway. It's fun to take them there every once in a while...a cooler alternative to the zoo! Ashlyn got to play skeeball...no wonder I can never get enough tickets, I guess I haven't been playing it right! :)
Then, on the 4th we went out to Lindsey's (my sister-in-law) parents house out in Tuttle. We got to swim, eat some of the best brisket ever made (by her dad) and shoot off a lot of fireworks.
Ashlyn wasn't too afraid of the fireworks this time, however, half way through, she started putting her hands over her ears
and singing "la, la, la..." I don't know if she was bored or the fireworks were too loud! :) She even got brave enough to do a sparkler or too...
with very close supervision of course! We always have a great time going out to their house. This is the 3rd year we've gone. The girls get really attached to Lindsey's dad, they followed him around all day, it was so sweet! Well, after a 4th of a July weekend celebration like that, this week may be a little relaxed and quiet...which is just fine with me! For more pics of our 4th of July, Click here!
