A night out with the family

Last night we got to go see Sesame Street Live. The tickets were free so we took the whole family and made it a family night. Rielyn had been dreading it all week and wanted to stay home with Aunt Katie instead, she thinks that Sesame Street and Elmo are for "little kids". Where did my sweet innocent little girl go that used to love "little kid" things? I mean she's only a week shy of being 6 and she's acting like a teenager! She refuses to watch Noggin anymore because the shows are for little kids and only wants to watch Disney shows like "Hannah Montanah". She will still watch some cartoons like Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry though.
So, to teach her a lesson (that she can't always get her way) we were terrible parents (I write that with much sarcasm) and we forced her to go. She tolerated it (probably because she was stuffing her face with cotton candy) and even threw in a couple poses for pictures! The show was about what Elmo wants to be when he grows up and so when the show was over I asked the girls what they wanted to be when they grow up. Ashlyn wants to be a teacher. Rielyn started with wanting to be someone who takes care of puppies and then changed her mind to wanting to be a mommy (aww how sweet, I guess I haven't failed as a role model)!
